Nils about Kemper

My main guitar is a 1986 Valley Arts Custom Ser# 159. It has some custom EMG electronics with a mid  booster, which allow for an incredible range of sound, from Gibson Hollowbody to funky Strat and to Power Rock and Blues tones. It is shaped like a Strat, and has a Kahler tremolo system with a Floyd Rose Nut . The neck is made of maple with an ebony fretboard and an alder body. My first Valley Arts guitar Ser# 133 was stolen, found, sold and re-bought and is finally back home. For the full story read my article “The Tale of 2 Guitars

I recently traded my vintage Fender Twin Reverb amp for a Les Paul Custom, the newest addition to my guitar family. I also own a vintage Strat from 1969, which I use mainly for blues, rock and funk.

I have several Bogner guitar amps and I recently got into the Kemper Profiler, which allows me to take the sound of my amps with me on the road and to Germany where I recorded parts of my new “Feelin Good ” album.

My favorite acoustic guitar is my Talyor K-20M, made from Koa wood with a Mahogany top. I also use a Ibanez acoustic, which I set up for nashville tuning (The thin set of a 12 string) and a Godin Nylon string guitar with a Synth pickup.

In the studio I work on Logic Pro X as a DAW and use the highest quality Apogee Symphony system for AD/DA conversion, with Millenia, Avalon, Neve and API mic  preamps on the front end. My main studio speakers are Focal Twin Be s, which i enjoy mixing on.
